Ventilation
That Works

A hot attic doesn't just make your upstairs uncomfortable — it puts stress on your roofing materials and pushes heat straight down into your living space. Proper ventilation pulls that heat out, without adding a dime to your power bill.

Home / Ventilation
What It Is

Ventilation That Works

Once your home is sealed, ventilation keeps hot air from building up where it shouldn't. We use solar-powered attic fans — roof-mounted fans powered entirely by their own solar panel — to actively pull hot, trapped air out of your attic during the day, exactly when your attic is heating up the most.

01

Evaluate Your Vents

We inspect your attic's existing intake and exhaust vents — soffit, ridge, and gable vents — to see whether your attic actually has enough airflow, and identify any that are blocked, undersized, or missing entirely.

02

Install Baffles To Protect Soffit Vents

Baffles (rafter vents) keep insulation from creeping over your soffit vents and choking off airflow. Without them, even a well-vented attic can end up starved for the intake air it needs.

03

Install A Solar Attic Fan, If Needed

If your attic is still holding onto excess heat once airflow is restored, we install a roof-mounted solar attic fan — sized and placed to actively pull that trapped heat out, powered entirely by its own solar panel.

04

Performance Check

We confirm airflow is moving the way it should — and that any fan installed is pulling air correctly — before we call the job complete.

Signs To Watch For

How to identify your home needs more ventilation.

  • An attic that runs hotYour attic feels noticeably hotter than the outside temperature on sunny days.

  • Ice damming in winterUneven snow melt or ice buildup along your roofline points to trapped heat escaping unevenly.

  • Moisture or a musty smellVisible dampness or a musty odor when you go into the attic.

  • Hot upstairs roomsBedrooms and rooms directly under the attic run noticeably hotter than the rest of the house.

  • Roofing that's aging earlyShingles curling, cracking, or wearing out sooner than expected.

  • Climbing cooling billsYour AC runs constantly in summer but your bills keep creeping up anyway.

The Upgrade

Take ventilation further with a solar attic fan.

Vents and baffles restore the airflow your attic was designed to have. A solar attic fan goes a step further — actively pulling hot, trapped air out of your attic during the hottest part of the day, exactly when it's working against you the most.

  • Zero added electricity costThe fan runs entirely on its own solar panel — no wiring into your home's power needed.

  • Lower cooling costsLess heat trapped in your attic means less heat radiating down into your living space.

  • Protects your roofReducing extreme attic temperatures helps roofing materials and shingles last longer.

Not sure if your attic needs one? We'll check as part of every ventilation evaluation and let you know if it's worth adding.

Why It Matters

What this means for your home.

  • Consistent attic temperaturesBalanced intake and exhaust airflow keeps your attic from overheating in summer, without adding to your power bill.

  • Less trapped moistureProper airflow helps prevent the buildup that leads to mold, mildew, and wood rot in your attic.

  • A longer-lasting roofConsistent airflow reduces the extreme temperature swings that shorten the life of shingles and roofing materials.
